This week’s activities and learning opportunities based on the Early Years Foundation Stage, and responding to requests and observations from last week, will include the following:

ACTIVITIES

Indoors – sand and jewels, free painting and collage (deserts), clay cacti, ‘flying carpet’, dance with floaty fabrics

Outdoors – ‘Sultan’s Den’, sand and jewels

LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

Begin to make-believe by pretending

Engage in imaginative role play

Play alongside other children who are engaged in the same theme

Experiment to create different textures

Capture experiences and responses with music, dance, paint and other materials or words

Communication, Language and Literacy

Use language to share feelings, experiences and thoughts

Use talk to give new meanings to objects and actions, treating them as symbols for other things

Use talk to pretend imaginary situations
