This week’s activities and learning opportunities based on the Early Years Foundation stage will include the following:

ACTIVITIES

Wood work, father’s day cards, mini sports, variety of construction sets (big builder, lego, wooden bricks, tap-a-nail)

 

LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

Physical

Negotiate space successfully when playing racing or chasing games with other children, adjusting speed or changing direction to avoid obstacles

Show understanding of the need for safety when tackling new challenges 

Engage in activities requiring hand eye coordination

Use one-handed tools and equipment

Demonstrate increasing skill and control in the use of mar making implements and construction sets

Use increasing control over an object, such as a ball, for throw, catch and kick

 

Knowledge and Understanding of the World

Realise tools can be used for a purpose

Begin to try out a range of tools and techniques safely

Use simple tools and techniques safely and competently

 

ACTIVITIES

Mini sports day with families, ‘dad’s week’, father’s day cards, stories – ‘My Daddy is a Giant’, ‘Grizzly Dad’ and ‘Me and my Dad’, book – ‘The Big Family Book’, snack bar – breads and fruits around the world
