This week’s activities and learning opportunities based on the Early Years Foundation stage will include the following:

ACTIVITIES

Story – The Three Little Pigs (and alternatives and other traditional with 3 characters – Goldilocks, Billy Goats gruff), acting out stories, sequence pictures, making up stories with small world characters and props

 

LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

Begin to be aware of the way stories are structured

Suggest how the story might end

Explore and experiment with sounds, words and texts

Retell narratives in the correct sequence, drawing on language patterns of stories

Show an understanding of the elements of stories, such as main character, sequence of events and openings

Play cooperatively as part of a group to act out a narrative

Use their imagination in stories

ACTIVITIES

Songs and musical instruments including Three Little Pigs Rap, Tumba Tumba, and whole body action songs, representing different animals and creatures to musical instruments

Join in singing favourite songs

Create sounds by banging, shaking, tapping or blowing

Show an interest in the way musical instruments sound

Enjoy joining in with dancing and ring games

Sing a few familiar songs

Tap out simple repeated rhythms and make some up

Explore and learn how sounds can be changed

Imitate and create movement in response to music

Begin to build a repertoire of songs and dances

Explore the different sounds of instruments

Begin to move rhythmically
